Technology empowers urban sanitation to become 'intelligent'

At Shilian South Road in the High tech Zone, an unmanned cleaning vehicle is sweeping fallen leaves along the sidewalk, autonomously bypassing obstacles, and performing "centimeter level" edge to edge cleaning. Even narrow sections of the road can be easily traversed, and in no time, a covered cleaning operation on a section of the road is completed.

With the continuous advancement of technology, environmental sanitation work has also ushered in more innovation and changes. The high-tech zone actively applies technological achievements such as the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence to environmental sanitation work scenarios, improving the efficiency of environmental sanitation work and assisting in the improvement of urban environmental quality. Since September last year, the high-tech zone has piloted the application of unmanned driving scenarios. After on-site investigation, network testing, autonomous driving road section planning, map scanning and collection, lane line and simulation verification, high-precision unmanned driving map surveying and mapping, and other work, the first batch of four unmanned driving cleaning vehicles have been deployed to carry out regular cleaning operations on auxiliary roads and sidewalks in some sections of the park, reducing the outdoor work risks of sanitation workers in harsh weather such as high temperature, rain and snow, while also bringing citizens a more technologically advanced clean environment experience.

In the classification and collection of household waste, the urban management team of the High tech Zone has launched a truck mounted weighing system for kitchen waste. By automatically weighing and uploading data in real-time during the collection process, accurate statistics on the separation of household kitchen waste in various residential areas can be achieved. The data can be applied to the monthly evaluation of garbage classification in the high-tech zone, helping to improve the effectiveness of garbage classification in residential areas. Simultaneously utilizing big data analysis, by collecting data from environmental sanitation operations, analyzing the patterns and amounts of household waste generated, optimizing the collection routes for household waste, improving transportation efficiency, and saving transportation costs. Launch a "one click repair" service for household waste classification and disposal facilities, covering 265 uniformly planned and constructed disposal sites throughout the region. The staff took the initiative to conduct inspections, transforming passive maintenance into orderly updates. Combined with online acceptance, a total of 679 repair requests were processed, with a repair completion rate of 100%, effectively ensuring the normal operation of the classified delivery facilities.
